Bathroom and kitchen renovations, home extensions and full renovations across the City of Salisbury — from the established streets of Salisbury North, Salisbury East and Para Hills to Paralowie, Parafield Gardens and Mawson Lakes. One licensed team, design to handover.

Renovating and extending in Salisbury

Salisbury 5108 · City of Salisbury
Licensed SA builder — BLD 360698

A lot of Salisbury was built in the decades after the war, with whole neighbourhoods such as Salisbury North, Salisbury East and Para Hills going up from the 1950s to the 1970s. Those homes are usually solid, on decent blocks, but they were built around a small bathroom, a closed-in kitchen and separate living rooms. That's the kind of home that rewards a renovation: a new bathroom or kitchen where the old one has reached the end of its life, or an extension that adds a bedroom or a bigger living area without the cost of moving.

Further west and south the housing is newer. Paralowie, Parafield Gardens and Mawson Lakes, which was developed from the late 1990s, have younger homes on tighter lots, where an ensuite upgrade, a kitchen refit or a well-planned extension makes more sense than a full rebuild.

Salisbury sits between Elizabeth and the city, along Main North Road and Salisbury Highway, so it's squarely inside the northern Adelaide area we work across. Whatever the job, Anthony quotes it in person, the trades are coordinated by us, and electrical work is done in-house by ASP Electrical Installations.

Building in Salisbury — your questions

Do you work across the whole City of Salisbury?

Yes. We take on renovations and extensions in Salisbury and its surrounding suburbs, including Salisbury North, Salisbury East, Salisbury Heights, Para Hills, Paralowie, Parafield Gardens, Ingle Farm and Mawson Lakes. If you're unsure about your street, call Anthony on 0449 281 424.

My Salisbury home was built in the 1960s or 70s. Does that change a bathroom renovation?

It can. Older bathrooms were built before today's wet-area waterproofing rules, so we strip back to the frame or masonry and waterproof to AS 3740 before tiling. Homes built before 1990 may contain asbestos in wall sheeting, eaves or old floor coverings, so we check before demolition and use licensed removal where it's needed. We also allow for replacing old galvanised or copper plumbing if it's tired.

Can I extend my house instead of moving?

Often, yes. Many Salisbury and Para Hills homes sit on blocks with room at the back for a rear extension. We look at the block, the existing roof and the services, then talk you through what would work, the approvals involved and a detailed quote. Our guide to council approval for extensions in SA covers the approvals side.

Do you handle the approvals and trades?

We do. We coordinate design, engineering, approvals and every trade, with electrical done in-house by ASP Electrical Installations, so you deal with one point of contact from the first meeting to handover.

Are you a licensed builder?

Yes. ASP Build & Co holds SA Builder's Licence BLD 360698, issued by Consumer and Business Services SA, and all work complies with the National Construction Code.
